    BACKGROUND

    Aragon Agency for Research and Development (ARAID). Aragón I+D Agency announces the opening of 12 tenure-track research positions in different fields. Candidates are expected to fulfil the requisites of academic background and experience for the specific position and have at least six years of postdoctoral experience. Successful applicants will have a permanent contract with Aragón I+D Agency, and will work along with teams from University or other research centres in Aragón in the premises of these cooperating institutions. This ad refers to a position on Bioinformatics for Plant Sciences, at the Aula Dei Experimental Station (CSIC)

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The incumbent will develop his/her own research group, and will be expected to develop strong lines of communication with other research groups of the EEAD-CSIC, currently working in genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. The successful candidate will propose new original research lines based on the merger and analysis of data from current in house experiments and their integration with bioinformatics databases, and analyses in silico.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Applicants should hold a PhD/Dr. in Plant Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related areas, with good knowledge of plant molecular biology, complemented with strong IT skills. Competence is sought in at least one of the following areas: sequence analysis, microarray data analysis, computational proteomics, metabolomics.

    PREFERENCES:
    A highly motivated individual with an interest in multidisciplinary research is sought, to serve as and advisor in biological information management, databasing, and experiment design for the EEAD-CSIC. Experience in database design or statistical analysis will be considered assets.

    LOCALE:
    The Institute currently hosts about 150 employees, including 54 researchers (34 PhD). It is devoted to Plant Sciences and Agronomy, and belongs to the largest Spanish public research body (CSIC), with excellent expectations for growth in the short term.

    COMPENSATION:
    Salaries will be commensurate with the experience and potential of the candidates an will therefore be negotiated individually. An additional welcome package of 30-50.000 â?¬ (based also on experience) will be provided by CSIC. The growth of this new group at the EEAD will be supported by one additional postdoc contract and one PhD scholarship, both available within the next three years.
