    ```It's the greatest summer job I could imagine,' said Stefanie Lynch, a Redwood High School student who lives in Tiburon. `I get to work with all these scientists, doing really important work. It's a different type of job than most of my friends have. I feel Iike I'm really doing something.'

    ``Michael Cusack agrees. As a Buck intern two years ago, Cusack [14 years old at the time] thought he'd spend the summer building a lab Web page.

    ``Instead, Cusack became involved in the world of bioinformatics - the use of applied mathematics and computer science to solve biological problems. Since then, he's become the Buck Institute's part-time bioinformatics expert while attending school at San Marin High. He'll begin classes at the University of California at Santa Cruz this fall as the published author of an article in the Oxford Bioinformatics Journal.''
