    BACKGROUND

    Overview RTI's Research Computing Division (RCD) has over 150 professionals with educational backgrounds and experience in computer science and related disciplines who provide computing services for collecting, processing, managing, and analyzing data. Our staff members are proficient in using an expansive list of computational tools including various programming languages, RTI-developed and commercial software as well as high performance computing resources located at RTI and at major supercomputer centers around the country.
    Within RCD, the Bioinformatics Program focuses on performing leading edge research and development for customers in the biomedical field. Our project base includes work in scientific data management, biological simulation, high performance computing and genomics applications.
    The position involves the definition, development, and delivery of solutions to a broad range of problems for government and commercial clients.

    REQUIREMENTS

    Experience and Skills Required:
    •Minimum of 2 years experience developing multi-tier Web applications using J2EE technologies such as Spring, Hibernate and Struts.
    •Experience with OOA/D (Object Oriented Analysis and Design) and design patterns.
    •Proficiency in relational database use.
    •Proven ability to work in concert within a development team
    •Experience working with staff from other disciplines
    •Ability to multi-task and juggle priorities across multiple projects
    •Good oral and written communications.
    •Education B.S. in computer science or related technical field
