RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful postdoc applicant will work in a computational biochemistry lab and collaborate with database programmers and experimentalists on a proteomics project. Main tasks involve developing and implementing methods for characterizing and analyzing gene annotations on the proteome level by using tools from comparative genomics, structure modeling, function prediction and incorporating large scale experimental data from mass spectrometry, microarray, chip-on-CHIP and biological validation experiments. The ultimate goal of the collaborative project is to identify drug targets in pathogen organisms.REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate holds a PhD degree in the relevant fields and has an extensive computational background in scripting and programming languages, developing web interfaces and experience with relational databases; familiar both with MS Windows and Linux operating systems. Strong familiarity with bioinformatics programs, databases, and applications, a working knowledge proteomics research concepts and techniques.CONTACT INFORMATION
