BACKGROUND
Physiomics is a young and dynamic company with an international team applying systems biology to pharmaceutical development. We are based in Oxford and work closely with Prof. David Fell leader of the Cell Systems Modelling Group at Oxford Brookes University.RESPONSIBILITIES
We have an opportunity for a software and IT manager to join our team. You would be expected to develop software tools to enable the simulation and development of computational models of cancer. This will also involve working with a variety of academic and industrial partners.
The successful candidate should have a PhD in a numerical subject e.g. Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Economics, Engineering. This PhD should have involved the development/implementation of mathematical models.REQUIREMENTS
C++ minimum 6 months, must be able to maintain C++ code base, C minimum 1 year, UNIX code development, source control systems, effective and accurate written English.
Minimum 2 years post-doctorial experience, minimum 1 year development in a team environment, deterministic or/and stochastic simulation methods, optimization and sensitivity methods for large (biochemical) networks, development of software for installation and use by non-programmers.PREFERENCES
MPI minimum 3 months, Matlab; XML, Sundials CVODE or equivalent, Windows systems administration, project management experience, good spoken English.
Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry experience, Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), expertise in biochemical reaction networks building, Monte Carlo, PDE simulations methods, technical authorship.TERMS
