    BACKGROUND:
    The American Type Culture Collection (ATCC), a global biological resource center, has an immediate opening for an experienced IS professional to provide leadership and strategic direction to the SIS program.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Director SIS is responsible for the matrix management of technical staff allocated to the operational integrity of the systems and infrastructure required to support the business and manufacturing functions of the BEI Resources. ATCC’s IS program is going through a transformation and seeking IS professionals who want to help facilitate change.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Qualified candidate will need an M.S. degree in a technical area with an understanding of biological sciences. A minimum of five years proven experience with computer applications in research and management of staff in Bioinformatics is required. Specific experience needed in laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), database design, Systems Development Methodologies, and Project Management. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to communicate/interact effectively with scientific staff. A background in the life sciences is desired.
