BACKGROUND:
Bioinformatics Support Specialist in the Computer Services Core of the Molecular Biology Department. Very diverse research projects in genomics, proteomics, epigenetics, nematodes, diabetes, human genetics, immunology and others. Interacting with the Computer Support Core Server Team and Desktop Support Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assisting more than 14 faculty and 200 postdoctoral researchers in short-term and long-term support of data collection, analysis and presentation.

REQUIREMENTS

BS in Computer Science or a Biological Science. At least two years of experience in bioinformatics (advanced qualifications preferred). Specialty areas in one or more of the following: Java programming, MySQL and Oracle databases, biostatistics, image analysis, data visualization.

PREFERENCES

Higher Degrees and more experience preferred
