    BACKGROUND

    The Center for Clinical and Translational Science at The Rockefeller University is a non-profit academic center with a tradition of 60 years of scientific excellence as a General Clinical Research Center and is expanding its services as part of the NIH roadmap program.

    The Research Design and Biostatistics Core at the CCTS employs outstanding biostatisticians and statistical programmers. Members work within teams across Center cores to collaborate with investigators throughout the Center and the University by providing expertise and effort in designing new studies, developing data bases, analyzing data and interpreting results, and sharing in the responsibilities and rewards of presentations and publications.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Modifying a C library for S-Plus and S-Plus code to increase speed and flexibility of a scoring algorithm.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Familiarity with basic statistical methods
    • Excellent skills in the use of C++ and R or S as programming language for statistical methods
    • Familiarity with programming techniques for FPGAs and grid environments a plus
    • A B.S. or M.S. in biostatistics, computational statistics, or a related field required.
    • Good written communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and creatively
