BACKGROUND

There is a vacancy for a post-doctoral bioinformatician in Prof Baulcombe's group, which studies miRNAs, siRNAs and other types of silencing RNAs that are central to molecular biology. Bioinformatics, data-minimg, statistical methods and computer modelling expertise is required in addressing the role of these RNAs in regulatory networks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The appointee will develop novel strategies and algorithms for analysis of our unique datasets and will provide data to be used in the design of experimentation carried out by others.

REQUIREMENTS:
PhD essential. Applicants should have experience with design of novel methods for analysis of complex datasets or with the computer modelling of complex networks.

PREFERENCES:
Statistical expertise and familiarity with the basic concepts of molecular biology would be an advantage.


TERMS:
1 year fixed term.
