BACKGROUND

The College of Science (COS) at George Mason University is seeking candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at the Assistant Professor level. The position is located on the Prince William Campus of GMU in suburban Washington, D.C. RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful candidates will have a strong research interests in bioinformatics or computational biology, and a doctoral degree in a relevant area. Postdoctoral experience is highly desirable. The candidate should have demonstrated interest in systems biology (broadly defined) and should integrate with existing faculty research interests. Additionally, a strong commitment to contributing to our existing Certificate, MS and PhD programs in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology is expected. Applicants should have the potential to obtain support for independent research projects, a strong publication record, and experience in academic teaching and mentoring.
