Graduate Research Opportunity in Bioinformatics

BACKGROUND

Bioinformatics and computational Biology is one of the hottest scientific areas nationally and internationally. The field has recently grown out of traditional fields of health informatics, biostatistics, molecular biology and genetics. My research is currently engaged in an a broad area of bioinformatics and computational biology including, but not limited to, algorithm developments for genome annotations, protein function analyses, protein structural analyses, and comparative genome analyses. The research involves in both infectious and non-infectious diseases, touching every aspect of human life.

DESCRIPTION

A graduate research assistant and a teaching assistant are available for motivated students to pursue the M.S. degree in the areas of Bioinformatics. The requirements are:

1. Basic programming skills and knowledge of database
2. Basic knowledge of molecular biology, immunology, genetics or other
scientific principles in biological science
3. Undergraduate degree in Biology, Computer Science or related fields

The graduate research assistant is highly competitive.
