    BACKGROUND

Postdoctoral position available for 1 year (with the possible extension
to 2 years) in Theoretical Biochemistry at the Department of Biomolecules
and Complex Molecular Systems, Institute of Organic Chemistry and
    Biochemistry, Prague, Czech Republic, http://www.molecular.cz.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

Current projects include the theoretical description of nucleic acid structure
and dynamics. The focus lies in three main areas: 1) the mechanism of RNA
catalysis 2) non-canonical structural motifs in nucleic acids and 3) the
reliability of current force fields for NA simulations. The methodology used
includes, but is not limited to, molecular dynamics simulations, free energy
perturbation, empirical valence bond, quantum mechanics, and database mining.
More information may be found at http://www.molecular.cz/~svozil.

    REQUIREMENTS

A Ph.D. in chemistry, molecular biology or related discipline is required.
The experience with molecular dynamics simulations, as well as good knowledge
of some programming language is a must.

    PREFERENCES

An understanding of theoretical methods, as well as of basic molecular
    biology is advantageous.
