    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Philip Morris USA, a global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of consumer products made for adults, seeks a qualified Senior Research Scientist - Communications to join our Research Development & Engineering department in Richmond, Virginia.

    Position Specific Duties
    • Provide expertise in epidemiology or closely related area to support our communications related to our efforts to reduce the harm from tobacco products.
    • Advice to management on scientific/technical and communications issues.
    • Scientific/technical litigation support.
    • Review and transfer to other RD&E disciplines the essence of internal and external science documents.
    • Preparing science presentations and other communications.
    • Internal/external data mining.
    • Contributes to major programs and projects which require coordination of technical and management personnel across major initiatives.
    • Interacts on technical/scientific issues with senior management and, together with his supervisors, with external stakeholders.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor of Science, Masters Degree. PhD., MD, or teaching degree advantageous. Must have demonstrated in-depth knowledge of epidemilogy or closely related areas.
    • Minimum of 4 years of professional postgraduate experience required.
    • Must have demonstrated analytical research capabilities.
    • Must have demonstrated excellent skills in researching for and preparing presentations and other written communications materials.
    • Must have demonstrated scientific/technical communication skills in the form of publications.
    • Must be proficient in online searches, presentation software (e.g. Microsoft PowerPoint); proficiency in imaging software is preferred.
