We are currently searching for an individual to be a major contributor to the development and maintenance of our core molecular simulation software platform. The successful applicant for this position will start in March of 2007.

REQUIREMENTS: (Applicants will not be considered without the following skills)
• Education: PhD in physics, chemistry, or a related field
• Experience developing and using software for molecular dynamics and/or Monte Carlo simulations
• Thorough understanding of molecular simulation algorithms
• Experience using molecular simulations to study biological systems
• Extensive development experience in the C programming language
• Ability to communicate in the English language (spoken and written)

Further skills (The following skills are an asset to qualified applicants)
• Doctoral and/or postdoctoral experience in molecular simulations (ab initio or classical)
• Proficiency with the Linux operating system
• Experience with perl, awk, shell and/or similar scripting languages
• Experience working on a clustered computing environment
• Experience using molecular modeling packages (AMBER, CHARMM, Gromacs, NAMD, etc)
• Knowledge of good software development practice (version control, unit testing, profiling)

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing and implementing innovative ideas for rational protein design using molecular simulation software
• Taking a lead role in the implementation of molecular simulation algorithms
• Implementing new software features requested by internal end-users
• Assisting in purchasing hardware and software for molecular simulations
• Preparing patents and research publications
• Attending conferences in the field of molecular simulations of biological systems

COMPENSATION
