    ABOUT US

    Clinical Data, Inc. (NASDAQ: CLDA), a provider of comprehensive molecular and pharmacogenomics services and clinical diagnostics to improve patient care, seeks a Bioinformatician I at our New Haven, CT site. This position offers you an opportunity to have a high impact contribution to the evaluation and discovery of genetic predictors of drug efficacy and safety. The person in this position will provide support of both internal and client projects.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Performs genetic analyses using proprietary and third-party bioinformatics tools.
    Monitors public and commercial resources for useful new data and tools.
    Integrates public and proprietary data.
    Prepares proprietary data for upload into public databases.
    Supports collaborative efforts requiring exchange and integration of data.
    Performs SNP selection and haplotype inference for research projects.
    Reviews new literature for applicability to company needs.
    Collaborates with other groups within the company such as Product Development and Software Development.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
    Master's degree (M.A./M.S.) or equivalent in bioinformatics, genetics, or equivalent; or Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) and at least two years related experience. Knowledge of public genetic databases and experience utilizing their programmatic interfaces are essential, as are competency in SQL and scripting languages. Experience in statistical genetics and knowledge of R a strong plus.
