Cytokinetics, Inc. is a leading biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of novel small molecule drugs that specifically target the cytoskeleton. The cytoskeleton is a complex biological infrastructure that plays a fundamental role within every human cell. A number of commonly used drugs and a growing body of research validate the role that the cytoskeleton plays in a wide array of human diseases. We are currently seeking a Statistician/Algorithm Developer in our Research Informatics department.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• The successful candidate will develop algorithms and computational and data analysis methods to support development of novel therapeutics.
• The candidate will work as a member of a dynamic group of statisticians, biologists, chemists, computer scientists and application developers, to develop state of the art technologies to support drug discovery.
• Candidate will also assist drug discovery scientists with data analysis and interpretation.

REQUIREMENTS

• The position requires MS with at least 5 years of relevant experience or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or Computer Science.
• Position requires experience with SPlus/R and either MatLab or Java.
• Working knowledge of SQL required, familiarity with Oracle and/or other DBMS system is a plus.
• Previous experience in Biotechnology or Pharmaceutical industry is not required but will be considered a plus.
