BACKGROUND:
The Computational Biology group at GNF is looking for a postdoctoral associate in the area of bioinformatics with particular emphasis on genetics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary research area for this position will be in mouse genetics, focusing on the interface with functional genomics technologies. In particular, we seek to mine gene expression and genotype data to identify regulators of biological pathways and novel pathway members. The research emphasis will be on the application of computational and statistical methods to formulate biological hypotheses, which will then be tested in collaboration with experimental groups at GNF.
REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Genetics, Bioinformatics, or Biology (or related field) and a firm foundation in biology, bioinformatics, and/or statistics. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment are essential.

GNF is located in San Diego, CA within walking distance to UCSD, Salk, Scripps, and a vibrant biotech community.
COMPENSATION:
