BACKGROUND

We are seeking a PhD student with an interest in the analysis of large-scale gene networks and protein networks to work with the newly appointed Lecturer, Dr Thomas Schlitt in the Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics, Division of Genetics and Molecular Medicine.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate would have a background in bioinformatics, biology, computer science, physics or statistics (and an interest in the other subjects), some previous lab experience and some programming experience (ideally experience with JAVA, Perl, R, SQL, Linux, yeast genetics).

COMPENSATION

This is a 3 year Studentship funded by the MRC. The stipend will be at the MRC rate (£14,709 for the year 2007/8). The funding also covers tuition fees at the EU (Home) rate (£3,300 for the year 2007/8).
