    BACKGROUND

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) creates public databases, conducts research in computational biology, develops software tools for analyzing genome data, and disseminates biomedical information - all for the better understanding of molecular processes affecting human health and disease.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of NCBI, the Computational Biology Branch seeks candidates to study and model biological networks and network / genome evolution.

    REQUIREMENTS

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with an experience in bioinformatics / mathematics / computer science. Strong skills in programming and algorithm design are essential. Ph.D. degree is required. Applicants should not have more than 5 years of postdoctoral experience.

    PREFERENCES

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in network analysis and proteomics. Must have excellent communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team. Applicants for Fellowship positions need not necessarily be U.S. citizens.

    TERMS

Appointments are made either within the NIH Intramural Research Training Award Program or within the Visiting Fellows Program of the National Institutes of Health. Stipends are determined according to the number of years of postdoctoral experience.

    HOW TO APPLY
