    BACKGROUND

    Pronota is a young, innovative biotech company headquartered in Ghent, Belgium which aims to revolutionize medical practice. Pronota aims to develop two kinds of molecular diagnostics based on measuring presence of biomarkers in blood and other biological samples. The first are designed to detect disease earlier than presently achieved. The second are designed to distinguish patients that will or will not respond to particular drugs.

    The company employs and further develops revolutionary proteomics technologies to achieve its goals. To expand its discovery programs, Pronota is now hiring dynamic, highly motivated and communicative innovators to join our Informatics team here at Pronota nv.

    SENIORITY: mid/high.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Relational Database design on LINUX (or Windows) e.g. MySQL, SQL server, SQLite. Database client application development under Perl/Java/C/.Net. Experience of working in scientific or engineering R+D environments is highly desirable. Educated to higher degree level in a numerate/scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant industrial experience including evidence of the successful delivery of informatics systems and project milestones.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    To maintain and develop Pronota's LIMS and data management/results systems. Working under an agile project management regime within a matrix environment as part of the Informatics group the successful candidate will also liaise closely with lab scientists on data flow development, user interface design, training needs and other related issues. Part of the role will also be to develop and extend Pronota's results storage and presentation systems and integrate them more closely with the company’s data analysis functions. Integration and/or evaluation of 3rd party workflow software may be required. Reports to the group head, however depending on the experience and ability of the candidate there may be scope for leading the project work. The primary responsibility of the role will be to ensure that Pronota's MS/Proteomics data is efficiently collected, tracked, stored and analysed.
