DESCRIPTION

Applications are invited for two full-time bioinformatics/computational post-doctoral positions to join the interdisciplinary research group (http://www.johnlab.org) of Dr. Bino John at the Department of Computational Biology, School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. As part of a major research initiative, there are two postdoctoral positions open immediately. You will be involved in both independent and collaborative research efforts to study various aspects of evolution and genomics of microRNAs, and other non-protein-coding RNAs with a focus on the systems biology of cancer. Please note that expertise in non-protein-coding RNAs is not a requirement; we welcome applications from very talented candidates from a variety of fields such as mathematics, computer science, physics, etc. Please do not hesitate to inquire with a resume if your credentials are outstanding but you are not sure whether your background would fit the laboratory. Successful applicants will have a unique opportunity to learn both computational and experimental methods or continue to hone their skills in computational biology/ bioinformatics. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biological sciences, computer science, or related fields. Excellent salary and benefits are available. Salary is negotiable.
