    BACKGROUND

    The position is part of an ongoing project to identify genes involved in multi-locus diseases.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The responsibilities will be tailored to the successful candidates background and will evolve as new skills are learned. In general, methods employed will include collection and analysis of protein interaction network data and of text-mining data. Experience with any of interaction network analysis, statistics, machine learning and/or text-mining would be useful. The successful candiate will need to have strong analytical and programming skills.

    REQUIREMENTS

    The candidate should have at least an M.Sc. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or a related field to work as a developer. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Bioinformatics or a related field to work at a post-doctoral or researcher level. All applications should demonstrate strong analytical and programming skills.

    PREFERENCES

    Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. who are able to start work in Norway immediately (e.g. Norwegian or E.U. citizens)

    TERMS

    The position is available for a period of up to three years starting immediately. The starting date is negotiable.

    COMPENSATION

    Pay grade: 48-64 (350 500 – 467 900 NOK), depending on qualifications.
