    BACKGROUND

    The Epilepsy Phenome/Genome Project (EPGP), is funded by the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, and brings together over 50 researchers and clinicians from 15 medical centers around the country. We are looking for an Informatics Application Architect to oversee the design and development of web based applications in Microsoft .Net 2.0/SQL to support this project.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The incumbent will assist in the leadership and execution of EPGP's Information Technology and Informatics efforts, including custom database driven website development/support, application implementation and data management; development of databases and applications solutions that ensure that EPGP stakeholders requirements are met in terms of Clinical Trails Applications, Business Applications, Infrastructure Automation and End User Support; work with the end-users to define database business functional requirements and use cases; communicate with scientific stakeholders that are often non-technical and translating their requirements into the various components of the data management system; and other duties as assigned.
    • * Candidate must have strong skills/experience in MS .Net 2.0/SQL Server and ideally clinical trials experience. **

    REQUIREMENTS

    Excellent project and time management skills; ability to lead a team of IT application/database developers using formal development lifecycles and some type of formal development methodology; seven years skilled at gathering business, user and functional requirements, then translating them into specifications, use cases, test plans and documentation that is understandable by both technical and non-technical personnel; good OOAD and UML skills; experience leading multiple medium sized projects and teams of up to seven professionals (internal and contractors) with diverse skill-sets, defining scope, gathering requirements, managing resources, cost, time, risk, change control, production, quality assurance, defect tracking, communications, client expectations and post-project analysis; experience with QA testing of database applications. Preferred Qualifications BS/MS in CS or IT with 10 years relevant experience; excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills; inquisitive mind with an investigative attitude and be very proactive; PMP, MCSE or other industry leading certification.
