BACKGROUND
Associate Principal Scientist = Biostatistics
Philip Morris USA, a global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of consumer products made for adults, seeks a qualified Associate Principal Scientist - Biostatistics to join our Research Development & Engineering department in Richmond, Virginia.RESPONSIBILITIES
• The Senior Biostatistician will conceive and lead advanced biostatistics research team in the areas of classical and molecular epidemiology and biomarker discovery for complex, chronic diseases with the goal of reducing the risk and harm associated with cigarette smoke and other products.
• Will be responsible for either conceiving or contributing to the design, implementation and analysis of data generated by all units of Epidemiology, Genetics and Complex Systems Analysis Group (EGCSA).
• Will collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external research teams to develop and employ statistical and molecular epidemiology methods for research projects.REQUIREMENTS
• Ph.D., preferred, or M.S. with equivalent experience, in Biostatistics or a related field.
• Able to develop, schedule and maintain budgets for biostatistics projects and work interactively with cross-functional scientific teams.
• Well-versed in standard statistical and data-mining software for analysis of classical biostastical, epidemiologic, genetic and bioinformatic information (i.e., SAS, SPSS, etc).
• Five or more years postgraduate research with leadership experience required.
