    BACKGROUND:
    The Bioinformatics Research Center at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte seeks a Graduate Program Coordinator for Fall 2007.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The Coordinator will be primarily responsible for recruiting, advising, and monitoring the progress of graduate students in our PhD program and in our newly established Professional Science Master’s (PSM) in Bioinformatics. In addition, the Coordinator will identify internship opportunities provided by biotechnology and related employers for PSM students and match students with internships.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    The successful applicant should have a Master’s Degree in Bioinformatics or a closely related discipline, and several years experience in managing graduate programs.

    PREFERENCES:
    Experience in business enterprises employing bioinformaticists is highly desirable.

    COMPENSATION:
    $40,000 to $50,000
