BACKGROUND:
A bioinformatics position is available at the School of Molecular Biosciences and Institute of Biological Chemistry at Washington State University to study rice RNA binding proteins. This position will be in the lab groups of Drs. John Wyrick (http://www.wsu.edu/~jwyrick/) and Tom Okita (http://www.wsu.edu/~tokita/), as a part of an NSF funded genomics project studying Rice RNA binding proteins. RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities will include analyzing microarray data cataloguing RNA binding targets, protein and RNA sequence analysis, and expanding and maintaining the in-house Rice RNA binding protein database.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should have experience in DNA and protein sequence analysis and DNA microarray analysis. Programming experience in Perl or related programming languages is essential.

PREFERENCES

A recent Ph.D. in biology, mathematics, or computer sciences is preferred. Prior experience with plants is not required.

COMPENSATION

Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
