BACKGROUND

The GPCR-OKB project is seeking a post-doctoral fellow to work on the creation of a GPCR oligomerization knowledge base [1]. Requirements and ontology for this project have recently been reported in the literature by members of the GPCR-OKB consortium [2]. Several prominent experimental and computational GPCR laboratories are contributing to this project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The candidate will join the lab of Dr. Fabien Campagne at the Weill Medical College (WMC) of Cornell University to work on implementing GPCR-OKB and populating and curating content of the knowledge base. The fellow will interact actively with the laboratory of Dr. Marta Filizola, at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and with the GPCRDB team at the CMBI in The Netherlands.

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will have experience with G Protein-Coupled Receptors and be familiar with computational approaches used to create biological databases and knowledge bases. Familiarity with biological ontologies is a plus, but can be developed during the course of the project.
