BACKGROUND
The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking a dedicated Oracle Architect. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the overall architecture for various Oracle systems at Dana Farber to best exploit the features of the Oracle technical stack and existing Dana Farber systems and infrastructure.RESPONSIBILITIES
• Architecting solutions to meet project performance and HA requirements
• Administrating software and tools in line with the business requirements
• Conducting performance, backup and recovery, and HA testing to ensure SLAs are met
• Evaluating, monitoring and proactive management of the database, application server and application performance
• Working to ensure that server and application security and integrity are maintained
• Perform server, database, and application audits for best practices and overall environment health checksREQUIREMENTS
Job duties are varied and complex requiring independent judgment. May have a project lead role, a BS or BA in related fields. 3-5 or more years experience in functional or technical role. Two years experience in multi-dimensional issue resolution. Ability to communicate effectively and an ability to build rapport with team members is essential.
• 4 years+ experience of Oracle technology DBA
• Thorough understanding of Oracle product knowledge and how to apply it to the business problems that Dana Farber faces
• VLDB database administration and techniques including partitioning, ETL tools, and backup/recovery techniques
• Server and application sizing, capacity planning, and consolidation
• Server and application tuning for performance and scalability
• Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions
• Advanced security (Virtual Private Database, Labels etc) is a plusLOCALE
