BACKGROUND:
The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard seeks a BIOINFORMATICS ASSEMBLY ANALYST, Sequencing and Analysis Program (2 openings).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
To use software and databases to assemble and analyze genome sequence data. Will serve as point person for groups across the program to identify and resolve technical problems relating to the assembly and analysis of genome data, propose and implement upgrades to existing tools and processes to enhance analysis techniques and the quality of results, and develop and implement novel analytical tools and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: ]
A bachelor's degree in biology or related field and at least three years of experience in DNA sequencing and sequence analysis. Must possess solid knowledge of sequencing software and public sequencing databases. Knowledge of bioinformatics tools required. Must be able to use UNIX operating system in a NT/Windows environment. Programming experience and knowledge of Perl or equivalent language required.
