    BACKGROUND

    Applied Proteomics, Inc. is a biotech start-up located in Glendale, CA.
    Our goal is to discover accessible protein biomarkers which can guide
    patient therapy and improve clinical trials. We are seeking a
    versatile computational biologist with expertise in the analysis of
    proteomic mass spectrometry data to play a central role on our R&D team.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Understand experimental paradigms, workflows, and instrumentation
    • Work closely with experimentalists to analyze data and provide them feedback
    • Devise, evaluate, and perform statistical tests on experimental data
    • Collaborate with other members of R&D team to implement and improve
    biomarker discovery

    REQUIREMENTS

    • M.S. degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, CS, or related scientific
    discipline
    • 4+ years experience in biotech/pharma
    • Understanding of statistical methods (t-Test, ANOVA, non-parametric tests)
    • Good working knowledge of Matlab and/or R
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Strong communications skills
    • Highly motivated individual with desire to work at a start-up
    • U.S. citizens only

    PREFERENCES

    • Experience in analysis of proteomic mass spectrometry data
    • Knowledge of experiment design methodologies
