    BACKGROUND

    Applied Proteomics, Inc. is a biotech start-up located in Glendale, CA.
    Our goal is to discover accessible protein biomarkers which can guide
    patient therapy and improve clinical trials. We are seeking an
    experienced, energetic software developer to advance our R&D program.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop working prototype of bioinformatics data visualization GUI
    • Build data access interface to back-end database
    • Create data import and export utilities for file-based resources
    • Design, implement, and debug new features
    • Interface and cooperate with other developers
    • Adapt development strategies in order to meet deadlines

    REQUIREMENTS

    • B.S. degree in CS, engineering, or scientific discipline
    • 4+ years Java software development experience
    • Java/Swing GUI development
    • Ability to build both rapid prototypes and production-grade software
    • Experience with relational databases (SQL, JDBC, database design)
    • Experience using source code control (e.g. svn)
    • Ability to work in a team environment
    • Strong communications skills
    • Highly motivated individual with desire to work at a start-up
    • U.S. citizens only

    PREFERENCES

    • Familiarity with Matlab or R
