BACKGROUND

Experienced software developer familiar with bioinformatics software, databases, and techniques to work on proprietary software for designing nucleic-acid based diagnostic tests.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Enhance, document, and support software and databases through the complete development lifecycle; collaborate on the development of systems to survey data from public genomic databases; work with scientists to determine requirements; contribute to the development of advanced analytic metrics.

REQUIREMENTS

BS, 3+ years bioinformatics development projects, experience with full lifecycle of scientific software projects, 2+ years Perl programming, familiarity with relational databases, strong object-oriented design & programming skills; elf-directed, motivated, resourceful and innovative, with excellent written & oral communication abilities.

PREFERENCES

Some familiarity with genomic databases; experience working with Linux, source control, and bug-tracking systems; ability to program in C/Java; basic understanding of molecular biology.
