    BACKGROUND

    PerkinElmer is leading the way with Internet-based Molecular Diagnostics software services to complement its growing set of Genetic Screening technologies. Help us take our new and innovative SpectralWare platform and related genome data-processing infrastructure to the next level. This system will deliver sophisticated web-based data analysis, rich graphical data visualization, professional report generation, and data management capabilities to large numbers of Cytogenetics customers around the world. The next clinical version of the software will be part of the Array CGH platform the company plans to take to the FDA.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    We're looking for an experienced and talented Internet developer to help extend the web platform consisting of J2EE, MySQL database, Java Applet and/or Web-Start (JWS) client with local data management capabilities, plus upstream genome data infrastructure consisting of Perl, CGI, MySQL database, and scripts. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to apply cutting edge Web 2.0 technology to an important world-wide medical need.

    REQUIREMENTS

    5+ years of solid Internet development experience in a commercial, customer-facing setting, with full software life-cycle responsibilities
    Demonstrated successes in applying Java, SQL queries, MySQL database schemas, SWING or other GUI development, Perl, and CGI to customer-facing or mission-critical needs
    Minimum of a BSc

    PREFERENCES

    Prior experience in developing regulated information systems (e.g. FDA, HIPAA, 21 CFR part 11)
    Exposure to Computer Science / Mathematical Programming
    Some familiarity with Biology, esp. Genomics/Bioinformatics
