    Education: Bioinformatics for Systems Biology

    The University of Manchester, UK, is pleased to announce the above new distance learning course. This module may be studied as an individual course, or as an element of the full MSc in Bioinformatics.

    The MSc modules follow two themes, Bioinformatics and Computer Science. The Bioinformatics modules are: Introduction to Molecular Biology for Computer Scientists, Introduction to Bioinformatics, Bioinformatics for Systems Biology, Introduction to Microarray Data Analysis, Theory and Applications in Bioinformatics, The Bioinformatics of Protein Structure, The Science of Proteomics, and Molecular Modelling and Structure-based Drug Design.

    The computing modules are: Introduction to software development using Java, Intermediate software development using Java, Biocomputing, Object-oriented analysis and design with UML, and Introduction to Ontologies for the Biosciences.
