    BACKGROUND:
    The Company is a publicly traded, cutting edge Life Sciences company that is committed to providing the best genetic analysis products that translate genomic science into superior solutions for biomedical research, agricultural applications, molecular medicine and non-invasive prenatal diagnostics research, and potentially, clinical utility.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The Director of Informatics will be responsible for leading the software team in the development of product software suites for applications in genomics and epigenomics, using the Company’s and other technology platforms. This position leads the creation and advancement of algorithms in signal processing, bioinformatics and computational biology with a product development focus involving the use of techniques from applied mathematics, informatics, statistics, computer science, artificial intelligence, chemistry and biochemistry.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • PhD in computer science, bioinformatics, engineering or related field is required.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in developing high performance scientific applications which have made it to the commercial stage.
    • Prior senior management responsibility for development of informatics systems for in-vitro clinical diagnostic (IVD) instrumentation is required, including the launch of such products into commercialization within a FDA regulated environment.
    • Prior experience with Regulatory (PMA and/or 510K) submissions required.
    • Broad and deep knowledge of software and hardware platforms, software development languages, commercially leading database management systems, storage technologies and data communications and software development life-cycles (SDLC).
    • Proven track record of motivating and managing diverse technical staff and resources in multiple projects through all life-cycle phases, while establishing direction and standards and maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence in the group’s knowledge of the customer and business needs.
    • Strong technical background and proven track record of accomplishments in a large, complex, multi-level organization.
    • Equally adept at developing technology strategies and the operation of existing technical infrastructures.
    • Significant experience and knowledge of software architectures.
