    BACKGROUND

    The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard seeks an ASSOCIATE COMPUTATIONAL BIOLOGIST, to assist researchers in developing state-of-the-art computational tools, algorithms, and analysis methodologies to address outstanding computational biology problems in the context of Broad's biomedical research.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Will work with senior researchers to create and test analysis models, develop data analysis and statistical methodologies, implement computational tools and bioinformatic pipelines, and design experiments and infrastructure in support of new technologies or experimental methods; write algorithms and design computational tools, bioinformatic infrastructure, and methods for analysis and interpretation of genomic, proteomic, and other types of molecular information gathered in a high throughput molecular biology lab; and help develop toolsets and bioinformatic applications that embed analysis methodologies to be published and distributed internally, to external collaborators, or to the biomedical community at large.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    A bachelor's degree in biology, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physical sciences, or other relevant scientific discipline; and at least three years of experience in computational methods, including experience with algorithms, data analysis, applied mathematics, and statistics. Must have experience developing computational tools and software for bioinformatic applications. Experience with microarray data analysis preferred. Should have demonstrated interest in computational biology and biomedical research and be able to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team of biologists, medical researchers, and computational biologists. Master's degree a plus.
