BACKGROUND:
The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) at Georgetown University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position to work on mass spectrometry data analysis at Ressom Lab http://microarray.georgetown.edu/ressomlab).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will work on the development of machine learning, statistical, and signal processing methods for mass spectrometry data analysis. This includes peak detection, biomarker selection, and peptide/protein identification through analysis of MALDI-TOF/TOF and LC-MS/MS data as well as database search.
REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:
Applicants are expected to have a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with relevant experience in high dimensional data analysis through machine learning methods such as support vector machines, fuzzy logic systems, and evolutionary methods. Other required/preferred skills include programming in MATLAB and working knowledge of statistical theory and hypothesis testing.
