    • *************IMMEDIATE EMPLOYMENT***********
The Malek Lab of the University of Michigan Cancer Research Center is actively seeking a candidate to update one of their existing Java applications.

    REQUIREMENTS:
Junior in college or equivalent JAVA programming experience
    Strong working knowledge of JAVA
Ability to commit ~20 hours / week to the completion of this project
Working knowledge of biology and/or genetics and/or a bioinformatics degree a plus!

    PAY:
Up to $20/hour based on experience and time committed.
End $$ BONUS available for quick completion of the project. This is something we need updated immediately (It is holding up all of our research!)

    INFORMATION:
For part of a graduate program, a student volunteered in
the lab and created a bioinformatics program to analyze the Loss of
Heterozygosity (LOH) in the genes from certain cancer tumors. This
program was set up to use the input from a 100K microchip array chip.
However, the manufacturer of the array has come out with a new 1 million
microchip array chip. We are looking for someone to update our existing
application to accommodate the new 1 million array data it will now need
to hold. We do not have much (any!) working knowledge of Java and
therefore can not provide an accurate estimate of the amount of work it
will entail. Perfect part time job, resume builder, and/or supplemental income!! Employees will be required to sign rights of their work over to the University of Michigan and to sign a non-distribution clause.

    HOW TO APPLY:
Interested candidates can email their resumes to wmwright[at]med.umich.edu (subject- LOH tool), fax them (attn Malek Lab) to 734-647-9654, or mail them to 4410 Cancer Center, 1500 E Medical Center Dr, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.
    (Fax or E-mail are preferred)

Interviews are immediate upon meeting requirements. Hiring is done on a first come/commit basis. Devotion to completion of the project is a must!
