We are currently searching for an individual to be a contributor to the development and maintenance of our core molecular simulation software platform. The successful applicant for this position will start in January of 2008.
Required (Applicants will not be considered without the following skills)
- Education: PhD in molecular biophysics, chemistry, or a related field
- Thorough understanding of molecular simulation algorithms
- Experience developing and using software for molecular dynamics and/or Monte Carlo simulations
- Expertise with techniques used for improving conformational sampling and free energy estimation
- Experience using molecular simulations for biomolecular modeling
- Extensive development experience in the C programming language
- Ability to communicate in the English language (spoken and written)
- Postdoctoral experience in molecular simulations (ab initio, classical, or QM/MM approaches)
- Know-how of the internals of any one of the common biomolecular simulation packages (AMBER, CHARMM, GROMOS, NAMD etc)
- Proficiency with the Linux operating system
- Experience with perl, awk, shell and/or similar scripting languages
- Experience working on a clustered computing environment
- Knowledge of good software development practice (version control, unit testing, profiling)
