    BACKGROUND

    The laboratory of Professor Daniela Nicastro at Brandeis University is seeking a full-time Programmer to develop and apply computational algorithms in the field of three-dimensional image reconstruction, image classification and pattern recognition for electron microscopic data.

    REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES

    The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (such as mathematics/statistics, bioinformatics, physics, and engineering), a strong mathematical foundation and excellent knowledge of high-level programming languages, in particular with Matlab (to build on existing code). Experience in one or more of the following fields is an advantage but not required: biological and medical imaging, pattern matching and machine learning, image or signal processing, computer graphics and visualization. A major focus will be research and the development new image processing algorithms.
