BACKGROUND

The « Hematopoiesis & Cancer » laboratory at the Institut de Recherches Cliniques de Montreal (IRCM) is interested in defining the role of transcription factors and splice factors during hematopoiesis (blood cell formation) and in the emergence of leukemia and lymphoma. We are seeking a Research Associate in Bioinformatics in the field of functional genomics. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience in interpreting and analyzing data from all type of DNA micro arrays in particular Affymetrix-type GeneChip arrays. The experiments in our laboratory include comparative mRNA expression profiles, genome-wide Chip on Chip arrays and genome-wide splicing arrays (exon chips). Previous experience with commonly used software to interpret DNA micro array data (such as TAS, integrated genome browser, spotfire etc.) would be highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret an analyze functional genomics data from DNA micro arrays inlcuding cDNA arrays, Chip on Chip arrays, splice arrays (Affymetrix type). Work in close contact with the researchers in the laboratory who generate the data.

REQUIREMENTS

M.S. or PhD in relevant field and interest in basic biomedical research
