    Applications are invited for a Wellcome Trust funded postdoctoral Research Associate (R1A) post focusing on systems biology of skin inflammation in the Cutaneous Medicine and Immunotherapy Unit, within the Division of Genetics and Molecular Medicine based on the Guy’s Campus under the supervision of Professor Frank Nestle.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:
    The research will focus on the dissection of molecular pathways of chronic skin inflammation using relevant in vitro and in vivo (Psoriasis-) models. In close collaboration with a team of biologists and medical scientists, the postholder will be involved in the experimental design and undertake the analysis of resulting complex datasets. The postholder will develop novel hypotheses to be tested in our model systems.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    Applicants must have a PhD in bioinformatics or related subjects. Prior experience in the analysis of genomic, gene expression or proteomic data sets would be advantageous. Programming experience is essential. Start date is flexible but aims for winter 2007.

    COMPENSATION:
    This is a full time post currently available for three years. The salary will be on the R1A scale ranging from £21,477- £24,839 per annum plus £2,323 per annum London Weighting Allowance
