    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining the overall architecture for various Oracle systems at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to best exploit the features of the Oracle technical stack and existing Dana-Farber systems and infrastructure. Job duties are varied and complex requiring independent judgment. May have a project lead role. Responsibilities include: Architecting solutions to meet project performance and HA requirements. Administrating software and tools in line with the business requirements. Conducting performance, backup and recovery, and HA testing to ensure SLAs are met. Evaluating, monitoring and proactive management of the database, application server and application performance. Working to ensure that server and application security and integrity are maintained. Perform server, database, and application audits for best practices and overall environment health checks. Administer database, application server and application environments. Tune the database, application server and application to ensure optimum use of resources. Institute Operation Procedures to ensure the clients operating environment is monitored to help meet SLAs. Ensure the database architecture is able to meet the client's ongoing and future needs. Proactively maintain knowledge of Oracle's current and future products/solutions offerings and formulate plans to incorporate them into the Dana-Farber environment where appropiate

    REQUIREMENTS

    4 years+ experience of Oracle technology DBA ; Thorough understanding of Oracle product knowledge and how to apply it to the business problems that Dana Farber faces; VLDB database administration and techniques including partitioning, ETL tools, and backup/recovery techniques; Server and application sizing, capacity planning, and consolidation; Server and application tuning for performance and scalability ; Understanding of High Availability and Disaster Recovery requirements and solutions; Advanced security (Virtual Private Database, Labels etc) is a plus.
