A postdoctoral research position in the area of computational structural
biology and drug discovery is available immediately at the Mayo Clinic
in Scottsdale. Current research interests include algorithms for
biomolecular simulations, high-resolution protein structure prediction,
force-field development, machine learning in bioinformatics,
cheminformatics, and applications of these techniques to drug and
    vaccine discovery.

The ideal candidate will have received a Ph.D. in Physics, Biochemistry,
or Computational Biology, have a strong publication record, and be
highly motivated. Required skills include experience in molecular
mechanics or dynamics, sequence analysis tools, familiarity with
Unix/Linux, and scripting in Python or Perl. Other desirable skills
are: biochemistry, statistics, computational chemistry, machine
learning, C++ programming, homology modeling, cheminformatics, and VLS.
Opportunities exist for interactions with researchers at other Mayo
Clinic campuses and Arizona State University. The position is initially
available for one year with the possibility of extension upon mutual
agreement. Exceptional candidates from other backgrounds who have
biomolecular modeling experience will also be considered.
