    BACKGROUND:We develop next generation tools for large-scale analysis of genetic variation and function, creating the way for tomorrow’s medicine. Our goal is to reduce the cost of human gene sequencing to a few thousand dollars per genome.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:You will analyse sequence data from a variety of present and upcoming DNA sequencing applications projects, making use of existing software tools and assisting in the development of new tools and algorithms.


    REQUIREMENTS:Education and Experience:
    • At least MSc qualified in a relevant science subject
    • Strong knowledge of Perl and/or Python mandatory, knowledge of C or C++ preferred
    • Post-qualification work experience in bioinformatics preferred, especially in the analysis of DNA sequences
    • Good understanding of statistics and data analysis
    • Ability to produce quality work with minimal supervision, prioritising tasks and solving problems as necessary
    • Practical experience of open source bioinformatics tools
    • A clear communicator, able to interact with scientists from a variety of backgrounds.
