BACKGROUND
A couple postdoctoral positions are available in the area of computational biophysics and theoretical chemistry in the University of Tokyo. Project 1: The project aims at developing more accurate protein-ligand and protein-protein docking algorithms using multi-scale simulation techniques in combination with experimental evaluation. We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist for this project. Project 2: We are also looking for another postdoctral scientist who has strong interests on molecular simulation on large biological supramolecules.
RESEARCH SUBJECTS:
Project 1: Prediction of conformational change upon binding, binding site prediction, atomic-level and multi-scale simulations for complex modeling and analysis of functional mechanisms. Project 2: Massive molecular dynamics simulation of biological supramolecules and the method development for it.REQUIREMENTS
Applications are invited from enthusiastic postdoctoral scientists with a strong background on molecular simulation, quantum chemistry, and/or statistical mechanics as well as programming skill for software development. We also welcome candidates from non-biology field, having strong interests in biological sciences.
LOCALE: Bunkyo, Tokyo, JapanCOMPENSATION
The starting salary is typically 4,200,000 - 5,000,000 yen/year and set depending on your background and experiences.HOW TO APPLY
Applicants should send CV also describing programming skill and experiences, research proposal describing possible contribution in this project and at lease two letters of recommendation to Akio Kitao (kitao[at]iam.u-tokyo.ac.jp).
