BACKGROUND: Seralogix is seeking Scientific Software Programmers to support research and development of new systems biology software for genomic/proteomic modeling and analysis of diseases of high public health concern. The successful applicant will provide scientific research and computational support for ongoing and future research and development for bioinformatics, genomic, proteomic and systems biology projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidates must have a strong background in software development, mathematics and statistics. Experience in bioinformatics, systems biology, data mining or pattern recognition is a plus. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and apply methods and procedures to accomplish research and development objectives. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated ability to:
- Develop scientific-based software independently and in a team environment.
- Design and implement statistical and probability algorithms
- Communicate the algorithms and/or results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related scientific discipline. MS or PhD is preferred. This position requires strong analytic, organizational, written, and verbal communications skills. The candidate must be an innovator and self-starter, and work equally well in interdisciplinary teams or independently.
