    BACKGROUND

    Health Dialog is a rapidly growing health care company that is improving the appropriateness of medical care by helping patients actively participate in medical treatment choices. Its unique business model is reinventing the way individuals and their health insurers manage care. Health Dialog is led by a small, highly experienced group of business and health policy leaders and has offices in Boston, MA, Manchester, NH and Portland, ME.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Develop and implement valid statistical methodology for data-driven analytics to meet business objectives. Objectives include measuring healthcare provider performance for delivering effective, efficient, and high quality health care. Objectives might also include developing statistical predictive model methodology to identify patients with unmet clinical needs and predict likelihood of major medical events for individual patients. Individual will also provide expert analytical consulting services to members of the Research and Modeling teams.

    DUTIES INCLUDE

    • Ensure statistical validity of departmental modeling activities.
    • Explore and document statistical properties of all modeling activities.
    • Drive development of new modeling strategies based on identified need for more statistical rigor and validity.

    REQUIREMENTS

    All applicants must have a strong statistical background with 5+ years of post graduate work experience. Health services research is desired but not necessary
    • Ability to make practical decisions, assess risk of imperfect data and methods, and arrive at optimal decisions within constraints of a business environment.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Clearly communicate statistical ideas in common language to non-statisticians.
    • Ability to get and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
    • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines
    • Ability to solve complex problems
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Outstanding record of academic and professional achievement
    • Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in taking on various projects
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
