I signed the PLoS petition but now two papers on which I should be an author will be submitted to non compliant journals. In both cases, I am not first author, and it is not possible for me to dictate the journal. I can suggest, and I will but both papers could be submitted to high prestige journals. I really doubt those in charge will submit the papers to a little known upstart web journal. So what can I do about it, short of requesting my name be removed? I don't have so many papers on my cv that I can just throw these two away.
