Special session on: Data Mining for Bioinformatics

The IEEE Symposium on Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology 2008 special session on Data Mining for Bioinformatics will focus on novel results in the topics of computational intelligence as they are employed for data mining applications in bioinformatics. The computational intelligence (CI) areas of interest include Genetic Algorithms, Neural Computation, Fuzzy Systems, Hidden Markov Models, Rough Set Theory, Support Vector Machines, Chaos Theory, Simulated Annealing, Bayesian Framework, Probabilistic Models, Statistical Models and other emerging Evolutionary Computing techniques. We are specifically interested in topics of CI that have been developed to address data mining challenges in several important problems of bioinformatics.
